Text note manager that integrates Markdown formatting capabilities and enables you to sync the database to other devices via an ownCloud server
QOwnNotes review by publisher Patrizio Bekerle: What is QOwnNotes software from Patrizio Bekerle, what is it used for and how to use it?
QOwnNotes is a plain-text file notepad with markdown support and ownCloud integration.
QOwnNotes is the open source (GPL) plain-text file notepad with markdown support and todo list manager for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows, that (optionally) works together with the notes application of ownCloud (or Nextcloud).
You own your own notes! All notes are stored as plain-text files on your desktop computer. Sync them over devices (desktop & mobile) with your ownCloud sync client. Use ownCloud Notes to edit your notes in the web.
So you are able to write down your thoughts with QOwnNotes and edit or search for them later from your mobile device (like with CloudNotes) or the ownCloud web-service.
The notes are stored as plain text files and you can sync them with your ownCloud sync client. Of course other software, like Dropbox, Syncthing, Seafile or BitTorrent Sync can be used too.
To manage your todo lists you need ownCloud tasks or Tasks++ as backend, with which you also can manage your todo lists in the web and on your mobile devices.
It is also possible to use an other CalDAV server to sync your tasks to.
To get more features with ownCloud for your notes, like versioning and access to your trashed notes, you might also want to install QOwnNotesAPI on your ownCloud server.
